Medical News Today – Flouride In Water healthier for teeth later in life?
Date Posted: Thursday, January 31st, 2013
Yes…Flouride in water is supposed to make your enamel stronger, your teeth decay at a much slower rate, and thus you see less Dental bills later on in life. But it must be done at birth in the earlier stages as “Your fluoridation exposure at birth is affecting your tooth loss in your 40s and 50s, regardless of what your fluoridation exposure was like when you were 20 and 30 years old.” – According to Matthew Neidell, a Columbia University Professor.
IN fact, this study also went on to say in the State of Louisiana they did a Medicaid Study where for every 1$ the state put into water fluoridation they saw 38$ less in Teeth Care.
That’s quite a turnaround in dollars and cents.

Botox in Dentistry, Appropriate or Not???
Date Posted: Thursday, November 29th, 2012
There has been a lot of talk about weather to offer Botox injections in Dentists offices’, some have called it ridiculous while others believe it can be used to manage pain for dental conditions such as TMJ. Summit Dentists have 6 locations in the greater Houston area, have been apart of the Dental Industry for many years and have heard all of the pros and cons on this particular topic. While Botox is usually associated with cosmetic surgeons, dentists are bona fide medical professionals and this is not considered to be outside the scope of their expertise. However, many people speculate that a dentist should continue to serve their patients by focusing on what they are trained to do. If you are considering having cosmetic injections it doesn’t matter where you go as long as you are making your decision as an informed consumer and you go to medical professional who has gone through the proper training. Do your research and ask questions!
